Vandely exported in the finals

I know, it's strange to hear as Vandelay usually imports the championship. But this season we went down in the finals. We spotted our opponents (CEBC) 8 runs before we started playing. Then after a pep talk, from yours truly, came back to within 2 runs, but too little too late. At least we got those cool t-shirts and trophy, see pic. The trophy was quickly claimed by my nephew Nathan, who was hit by a foul ball. When asked what he did to win the trophy promptly, Nate said, "I got hit on the head with a ball" too cute! We'll get 'em next season....when G rejoins the team!

Blurb 1 year party!

Great party last night at Z Space in SF to celebrate Blurb being open for business for 1 year! Lots of fun employees, spouses, friends, customers, partners, VCs, etc . There was a funny offbeat percussion band, a photo area for pics (see below) that will be turned into a book, and lots of booze. Some hung over people at work this morning. Oh and they gave us all cool Blurb hoodies with our employee number on the back. I was shocked to find out I'm now... #5! Think I started in the low teens but we've had a bit of attrition over the past 1.5 years. Sweet! 4 more spots and I'm #1! Just kidding. Was also excellent to have Tricia meet the people I work with, and vice versa. Big love fest toward the missus when I got to work this morning.

Fun in Fairfax

Fun day yesterday with Josh and Tonya, their first weekend since all that hard work in Jamaica last week. Day started with a great run in Fairfax (see pre-run pic below) around Bon Tempe Lake - George and Lee, you've been to this place.

Then lunch at a brewpub in Fairfax where we all ate too much and I got lectured about how much South Marin sucks by a local who thought he knew me from some mountain bike event. Good beer.

Next up was nap time chez Baumfield while Josh worked on his laptop, and then we caught Waitress at the Chestnut St. theater. No doubt the smallest theater I've ever seen in my life. Maybe 30 seats with a screen only slightly larger than Josh's TV. Really well done movie with a clever pie theme throughout. Apparently not enough nookie or explosions to keep Josh awake. I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

And lastly, we went to Mel's for Man These Weekends Go By Too Fast Pie. Mmm mm.
